What I Miss About Canada
- The Rocky Mountains
- Spacious sidewalks, quiet streets, the Sugarbowl, and my walk home from school
- Our cosy house, waking up and looking out the window at the birds in the trees
- clear, cold, frosty, sunshiney mornings
- farm parties, road trip parties, and having people over to watch Simpsons and eat ice cream
- easy and familiar social interaction
- Whyte Ave, Cafe Mosaics, Black Dog and Backroom
- having quarters with the moose on them in my pocket. (euro currency does not have a 25 cent piece. this=loads of change in your pocket)
- the big sky, cowboys and coyotes howling
- the northern lights
- central gas-fired hot air heating
- birds at our bird-feeder and squirrels in the trees
- pink sunrises over the snow-covered river valley
- wilderness and wildlife
In other news, I have rediscovered my drive. I have also re-realized that psychology is really what I want to do, and I am taking steps to figure out what I need to do in order to get a job in psychology here. I now have the appropriate forms to fill out in order to become a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland, and the forms to get my Canadian degree validated to an Irish equivalent are being sent on their way. Now all I need is some experience and a Master’s degree. sigh! one thing at a time, I guess…
