weboggled

March 31, 2003

I’ve been working on this garden center site a lot lately, trying to get it up and running as soon as possible. I woke up and started right in on it, and took a few short breaks when I started getting crosseyed. It’s like running against the wind; lots of effort and what seems like a small amount of progress. But there is hope – various types of code are starting to carry meaning rather than just being patterened gobbeldygook.

It’s been a boggy weekend. We went on a hillwalk again on saturday and did some proper boghopping. I thought that was just a turn of phrase, but this bog that we went through had lumps and dropoffs of two or three feet at times. It looked like some alien landscape. And it did require hopping down off the rises and hopping quickly through the muck so as to not get stuck. Good fun though, especially since it was sunny and warm. We climbed the hill (mountain?) that is in the background of my banner pic. It was a bit strange to be looking at the directions and the map, driving down a road that looked very familiar, and to realize that our turnoff is the same as the turnoff we took to go to the stone circle last week. The view from the top of that mountain is quite spectacular – you can see all the way to the ocean in one direction, and into county cork in the other.
