Two women get into an elevator…
One is short, but wears tall grey suede heels that seem to be falling off her feet. Those feet are the start of long bare legs beneath a charcoal grey miniskirt. Arms covered by a light black slouchy cardigan are crossed in front of a purple tank top. A pouty, almost surly face is framed by long, thick disheveled dark blond hair.
The other is tall, with short heels on her long, bright shiny purple wellington boots. Baggy, ill-fitting dark jeans are stuffed into those boots, and they puff out a bit where the flared jeans just wouldn’t fit into the narrow boots. An apple green waterproof-breathable raincoat covers a burgundy wool cardigan (hand-knit, and a completely different shade of purple than the boots), and the hands that extend out of those burgundy and green sleeves are holding onto a large, white plastic bag filled with 11 skeins of discount yarn. A long, black scarf keeps out the December chill, and a burgundy hat with a honeycomb pattern matches the cardigan (but not the boots) and comes down just a little too low over her forehead.
Each woman looks at the other and thinks to herself, “OMG, what on earth is she wearing??”
