shaken, not stirred

November 3, 2005

we’ve had painters in our house for the past week, repainting a few rooms that had problems with peeling paint, mildew and water damage from our leaky roof. They arrived one morning without any prior warning and announced that they would be back the following day to begin the job. So we moved the contents of three rooms into the other three, and have been slowing moving things around as they finished areas and moved on to others.

they finally finished up the job today, and it looks great. but i’ll be much happier once i’ve had a chance to put everything back where it is supposed to be. while I don’t really mind having the decorative living room candlestick on the kitchen table, or all my books in the hallway, I’d really like to get the hula hoops out of the bedroom. I feel like our house has been picked up by a giant child and shaken around for a bit so that everything has loosened up and fell out of place.
