let me on that road…
I took the driver theory test today, and I aced it!
only two more things left to do: get passport photos, and hand over all the forms and 15 euro. Then I will be a licensed learner driver in ireland. a somewhat scary thought, but I’m sure that once I actually start driving it won’t be so bad. or maybe it’ll be worse. regardless, I am actually going to do it.
Last night was the first class of my creative writing course. I met some nice people, started thinking of ideas for short stories, and have generally started to put some fuel on my creative fire. It feels very satisfying. I think the class in itself may actually end up being a bit frustrating due to the instructor and a large contingent of housewives who read a lot of crap novels (in my humble and perhaps overly-academic opinion). I wouldn’t mind them so much if they were polite and considerate to the rest of us students, but they are loud and interrupt constantly with inane comments and questions. and the instructor is a man who is very pink and squishy… literally and figuratively.
We will see. I do believe that you get out what you put into things, so I’m not going to let these circumstances prevent me from getting as much out of the course as I can. I started an outline for my short story, and I’d really like to get it into a rough draft for next class. I’ve discovered how fun it can be to make up characters…
