Interview #1
So I finally got a nibble, which is nice because I was starting to wonder if anybody was actually reading my resumes or if they were going straight into the bin. But they are interested, and I will go tomorrow to the employment agency and convince them to hire me.
It’s a 6 month contract doing receptionist work for an insurance company, possibly leading to a permanent position. but I won’t get too excited until I can say that I’ve actually got a job.
had a nice weekend, which felt like a mini-holiday. went to a party in west cork, which was a bit too loud in a too small room with people that were a bit too far gone. they had excellent UV backdrops all over the place though. then on sunday we drove around the countryside a bit, went to Schull (pronounced skull) to watch the boat races, then drove by Jeremy Iron’s castle, and then home to cook a tasty dinner. maybe next weekend we will go boating again in the dinghy…
We are in the process of trying to decide what kind of car/vehichle/teleporting device to buy. We have seen the ideal van here and there, the toyota Town Ace. There has been a Town Ace Super Extra parked in the road by our house lately, and I sneaked a peek today. They are super swish; 8 independent sunroofs, electric curtains, and a hot/cold box to keep food at the ideal temperature. but they have to be imported from Japan, and the going rate for a 10 year old one seems to be 3000 euro.
gotta run, all this talk of expenses reminds me of the phone bill coming soon. eek!
