Hello Spring
Spring is well and truly here… daffodils are blooming, I planted my potatoes, Easter weekend is around the corner and I’m only two weeks away from a full-term pregnancy (marked at the 37th week, although I could conceivably continue to be pregnant until the 42nd week. I sure hope I’m not.)
This pregnancy has been different from my first in many ways, but none as dramatic as how I am feeling now that I am only a handful of weeks away from delivery. I am certainly in less of a hurry to get to the birth, both because I know what having a newborn is like and also because I’m not planning on packing up the rest of the house and leaving on a plane in a month or two. Some days I feel like I’m not going to have enough time to enjoy this last stretch of pregnancy. I can feel the birth creeping up around the corner and I want to just sit and knit and hang out and enjoy the feeling of being fully rested and hormonally stable. Other days I’m more eager to meet this little one. I’m sure the balance will shift away from relishing the last days of sleep to just being done as each week passes…
Not much else to write about really. Thesis is progressing, which is good but means that we’re not getting out and about together to do things worth writing about. It’s pretty much just nesting and thesising going on around here, at least for the next few weeks.
