around town
The job hunt has officially begun.
Surrounded by classified job ads, bank brochures, employment agency printouts and drafts of my CV, I feel a bit like I am back at school, working at some end of term project or essay. I do feel like I’m getting somewhere even though I haven’t had any responses yet (it’s only been a day, I will give them time), it’s mostly just the satisfaction of working away at it.
At the moment I am aiming for a secretarial/admin position, that has regular working hours and will pay me a reasonable amount. But who knows? apparently (according to the employment agencies) this area is very slow right now and it might pick up in September. so I might end up doing something less than ideal until then.
But even then, I don’t think that would be so bad. it would be better than sitting around and doing nothing and not earning anything. And I’m feeling pretty confident at the moment, so hopefully that will blow them away in the interviews and I will be offered the dream job. otherwise I might have to travel up to blarney to kiss the blarney stone and gain the gift of gab.

um, maybe not.
